What is digitizing image?

The process of converting information into a digital format, also known as a format that can be read by a computer, is referred to as digitizing image. The end result is the representation of an object, image, sound, document, or signal (typically an analogue signal), which can be obtained by generating a series of numbers that describe a discrete set of samples or points. This can be thought of as a digital copy of the original.
